AFAIK, you can config properly which soundcard to use then use the 
persistency feature found in new grml-devel-release: 2009.04.23 to save/
remember your choice.

persistency feature . . . activates a feature providing persistency for 
the ISO so you can store all your changes on a partition and re-use them- 
(cool, or?).
