Proprietary firmware is proprietary.
vrms is very incomplete and misleading since it's named after rms, yet it follows the dfsg...
The bug is the lack of licensing info on the homepage.

No, Grml doesn't contain proprietary software (unless your definition of
proprietary software contains some selected firmware packages from non-free,
install vrms and see yourselve).
