Ah! I never run X as root :) - thanks for information!

Ah ok. To be honest I don't want to rely on ddcxinfo, so I will
introduce commandline options hsyns + vsync for grml-x2 (and of
course check for bootoptions hsync/vsync as well).

So you will be able to boot grml via:

grml hsync=FOO vsync=BAR

or call grml-x2 via:

grml-x2 -hsync=FOO -vsync=BAR fluxbox

I hope this a reasonable solution.
