Upgrade home windows 17963

You are being contacted about a new-windows package that might increase your homes value and make it more beautiful.

As we head into June, the weather will become warmer and we will want to keep our homes cooler. We lose tons of air due to leaking windows and new technology exits to prevent this from happening.

Youre probably thinking its about time to put your sun screens back up on your windows if you have them. But if you dont have sun screens, you might want to know why you should buy them.

If youre new to our state, you might even think of sun screen only as a lotion you put on your skin to block the suns rays. In Arizona, however, many homeowners buy them for their sunniest windows to provide more shade in the house and reflect the suns rays. Sometimes theyre called solar screens or shade screens.

Maybe you already have window screens designed to keep out bugs. But this type of sun screen is made of polyester coated with PVC polyvinylchloride to prevent heat transfer through windows. Some manufacturers say that these screens can block 80 percent of the suns rays.

Sun screens can be a good buy for homeowners since good quality screens will last long enough to pay for themselves before you replace them. Their average lifespan is seven to 10 years for fiberglass and more than 10 years for vinyl coated screens. Some sun screen manufacturers even offer 10 year warranties.

Sun screens lower temperatures indoors during the summer and keep furniture and floors from fading. Sun screen material should not block your views of the fairways and mountains in the great outdoors. But if someone is trying to look inside your house, theyll have a harder time checking out your home.

Sun screens also insulate against the cold in the winter to a degree. But homeowners often remove sun screens from windows in fall and winter to let in more light.

Sun screens should be built and installed to fit the exterior of your window openings with the screens spines facing out; this creates insulating air space between the window and sun screen. You want to have high quality frames because they can last a very long time.

The frame should be constructed of aluminum strips measuring 1 inch wide, 7/16ths of an inch deep, and .025 inch thick. Frame corners should be aluminum as well, not plastic.

Youll know your screens need replacing when they discolor or deteriorate. You can build your own sun screens, though it is time consuming.

If you already have sun screens, you may want to clean them thoroughly before you put them back on your windows for the summer months.
