I came across an article on Dr. Oz's site not too long ago.
It's fascinating. And I had to share. Especially this bit...

WHETHER SHE'S AT HOME, HOSPITAL OR FRIEND'S HOUSE, ONE MONTH INDOORS IS ENOUGH TO MAKE HER DEPRESSED. STAYING HOME FOR 3 YEARS WILL MAKE PEOPLE SEVERELY DEPRESSED. THE BRAIN IS DAMAGED AND IT IS A SERIOUS ILLNESS. SO PEOPLE WILL ACTUALLY BECOME ILL IF THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO. IF ONE HAS A JOB BUT DOESN'T WORK HARD, IT IS NOT DEPRESSION. HALF A YEAR OR 5 MONTH IS ENOUGH TO TURN ONE INTO DEPRESSION. , AN ELDERLY FROM HONG KONG ASKED ME: "MASTER, DO YOU LIVE?” "I SUFFERED A LOT DURING MY STAY IN VANCOUVER. I LIVED OR 7 YEARS. EVERY DAY, I LOOKED OUTSIDE THROUGH THE . SOMETIMES I SEE ONLY ONE PERSON AND ONE DOG IN A WHOLE DAY.” THE TV SHOWS ARE IN ENGLISH, A LANGUAGE THAT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. THE FOOD IS WESTERN STYLE AND THAT YOU DON'T LIKE. IS NOBODY FOR YOU TO WATCH EVEN IF YOU JUST WANT TO WATCH PEOPLE WITHOUT TALKING TO. SO YOU ARE DEPRESSED. AFTER ALL WE NEED A PLACE TO STUDY AND PRACTICE. JUST ACCEPT THE RAINS. YOUR WORRIES CAN'T CHANGE THE PROBLEM OF RAINING, RIGHT? IS NO RAIN IN OUR ROOM, RIGHT? HOW HARD TO COME BY. COME AND PRACTICE . WE HAVE DIFFERENT CLASSES. AFTER PRACTICING, YOU CAN HAVE SOME SNACKS AND MAKE SOME FRIENDS. AS LONG AS YOU DON'T GAMBLE, EVERYTHING ELSE IS FINE. IT IS HAPPY TO MEET NEW FRIENDS AND TALK WITH THEM. SO 
 DON'T JUST STAY AT HOME. DON'T BE LAZY. FOR YOUR HEALTH SAKE AND FOR A HAPPY LIFE, YOU SHOULD COME TO PRACTICE AT A FIXED TIME EVERY DAY. WHEN I FIRST WENT TO SINGAPORE AND TAIWAN, I SAID: "YOU GUYS HAVE SUCH SERIOUS ILLNESSES AND SOME ARE WITH INCURABLE DISEASES.. YET YOU ARE STILL SO LAZY. SOME ARE UNABLE TO RECOVER EVEN AFTER THE SURGERY. I TOLD THEM THAT THEY SHOULD COME SOONER TO PRACTICE. I WAS REALLY WORRIED FOR THEM BUT THEY HAVE MANY EXCUSES, SUCH AS NO BUSES OR NO SUBWAY AT CERTAIN TIME, AND IT WOULD BE TOO LATE WHEN THEY GET . THEY FOUND ALL KINDS OF EXCUSES.
