Retitling the issue, as it's not about just "remove live-initramfs" but about 
"migrate from live-initramfs to live-boot". Though it's nothing that is just a 
simple removal/replacement in GRMLBASE file but a step that needs to be planned 
thoroughly (currently live-boot is mainly live-initramfs split out and live-
initramfs is present as a transitional package, the really big changes will 
happen after squeeze and might include non-backward compatible changes that 
we've to take care of).
