Well, it's a check within grub so that you're aware of that
something is "wrong" with your system (of course the error message
could be much better). I can't do anything against that, but very
probably your system won't boot at all with such a configuration
anyway (a partition table that doesn't reflect the present
filesystem probably confuses most BIOS versions).
