[issue418] live-initramfs: make sure log_* functions work in quiet mode

I'm not really happy about the way live-initramfs realizes output redirection, 
especially in quiet mode warning just aren't visible to the users. We should 
investigate on that an make sure the user is notified about any possible 
problem (currently I'm hacking around that using /dev/console).
